NICE TOMÈTE YOU

Anouck Leclercq

Founder of Superchinerie and Maison Légère

For the start of our "Nice Tomète You" series, we had the pleasure of being welcomed by the founder of Superchinerie , Anouck, who cultivates the art of the table with precision and meaning. By mixing vintage pieces and timeless design, she creates neat, durable and lived-in tables.

Today, she welcomes us to her home for breakfast, at the Maison Légère -
her new home in the Perche Sarthois, which she patiently rebuilt with her partner. Between a taste for beauty and respect for life, she creates an art of living that is as elegant as it is sincere.

Tomète: Can you introduce yourself in a few words?

ANOUCK: My name is Anouck, I divide my time between Paris and Le Perche, where I opened Maison Légère. At the same time, I curate the Superchinerie brand, a vintage and designer tableware. I like to share my time on multiple projects, feeling nomadic thanks to these two living spaces that offer me a hyper-dynamic rhythm, and organizing events for brands or friends at home...

How would you describe your interior design style?

Simple, timeless, artisanal.

Can you tell us about the city or neighborhood you live in? How does it influence your interior design?

In Paris, we are in the 3rd arrondissement, at the heart of the reactor and above all never far from the 11th, which has been my favorite arrondissement since I arrived in Paris 12 years ago. While the Maison Légère is isolated from everything, surrounded by fields, perched on its hill. It is the combination of the two that gives me balance. The common point of these two living spaces is wood: we have always chosen apartments with exposed beams in Paris, I think that has always been essential in our vision of urban life, to rediscover an old and “authentic” touch.

Tell us a story about the layout of your house.

90% of our interiors are second-hand, from the light switch to the tiles, including the furniture, of course. If it's not second-hand, it's handcrafted (ironwork, kitchen and occasional furniture, a bench sculpted by my friend Alice Damiens - Romie Objetti, etc.).

What is your philosophy regarding the art of the table?

I approach the art of hosting with a stylist's eye, I think about my tables like looks by assembling sometimes surprising pieces, eras, materials, with the aim of creating a style all my own, a memory, beauty and above all a good time. And this, always in harmony with the seasons (on the flowers or vegetables that I use as totems - which I then eat of course)!

A memorable memory or something specific to share about a meal you organized or participated in?

Every brunch I host at my mom's house, the day after Christmas, for her birthday, for my sister's or brother's... I love arranging all the details of the brunch format on the table: the egg cups, the stainless steel bowls for the granola, the small plates for the pancakes, the small bowls for the scrambled eggs, the different breads, fruits. The accumulation of small portions and attentions makes me boil.

What kind of host are you? Team "I think about the menu and decor weeks in advance" or team "last minute"?

Team “I’m thinking about the menu” but the decoration with the Superchinerie stock, I do last minute, I pick according to my mood.

A song we'll definitely listen to at your place?

Billy Paul.

How did you discover Tomète?

On Instagram. Having been in the ready-to-wear industry for 10 years, I know the impact of production, so I pay extremely close attention to the materials and sourcing of the brands I consume. Tomète is one of the brands that creates its collections with common sense on these two points, with the added bonus of timeless colors, so I immediately joined! I should point out that timelessness is very important to me, because it is obvious that we keep pieces longer if we don't get tired of the color (among other things), which is why this is part of an even more sustainable approach.

Which Tomète product did you choose for your home, and why?

A white set for the king-size bed in the house, the scallops will bring an extra softness to this room already warm with its linen headboard. A mix of materials that interests me, the roughness of the linen and the very smooth percale cotton.

And the new collection of bath linens, naturally (which will be available very soon). The towels are so soft that I think I'll spend a long time in the bathroom. I've even installed an armchair in two of the bathrooms in the house to create a real moment for myself, where we take the time to cream ourselves and take care of our body.

How would you describe the atmosphere of your room in a few words?

I would say mineral, fairly neutral colors, white and ecru, light contrasts, natural materials for both sheets and curtains. I love hanging out in my bed and doing my emails there on the weekend, I sometimes leave my cups on my stainless steel trays, which bothers my partner quite a bit… (laughs). So for me it's a comforting atmosphere, I need this energy to start my days. I couldn't be in a room without a soul.

What is your favorite sleeping material and why?

Cotton in winter and linen in summer, always.

What place does household linen hold in your home?

Super important: I love enveloping beds, curtains that let the light through, tablecloths that invite you to a good dinner, napkins wrapped around your head for dancing on Sunday morning. Linens with pretty details, whether it's a scallop, a beautiful bias, a ladder hem. Delicacy mixed with comfort and sensoriality.

A current decor inspiration?

I'm currently reading " La Villa" by Brigitte Benkemoun. The history of the place, its architecture, and how the owners imagined it—all subjects that fascinate me.

Who would you like to see for our next “Nice Tomète You”?

Laurianne Melierre, who recently created “Plan de table,” private dinners that she hosts in her apartment. She has an absolutely divine writing style (no pun intended, with her writing agency called Plume), so it would be great to read her while discovering her interior and her way of entertaining in a more intimate way.
