NICE TOMÈTE YOU

Morgane Chaplain Staskiewicz

Architect in Paris

A passionate architect, vintage lover, and mother of three, Morgane welcomes us into her light-filled Parisian apartment, where every object seems to have a story to tell. In this former dance studio transformed into a soothing cocoon, natural materials, secondhand furniture, and carefully selected linens create a decor designed with love.

Combining Scandinavian inspiration, a taste for craftsmanship, and a love of the art of hospitality, Morgane embodies a lively and spontaneous aesthetic that's both refined and accessible. An inspiring encounter, just the way we like it at Tomète.

Tomète: Can you introduce yourself in a few words?

MORGANE: I am Morgane, an architect and mother of three children, passionate about vintage furniture and tableware, decoration and tableware.

How would you describe your interior design style?

I like mixing genres but generally a sober base with raw or patinated materials, craftsmanship, thoughtful purchases!

Can you tell us about the city or neighborhood you live in? How does it influence your interior design?

I live in Paris, where inspiration is very present. The beautiful buildings, art in general through exhibitions and the many galleries inspire me enormously, but I also really like Scandinavian design...

Tell us a story about the layout of this interior.

When we visited this apartment, there were mirrors and bars on every wall because a prima ballerina taught here! We kept a large one in the entrance.

What is your philosophy regarding the art of the table?

Table setting is a daily affair, and I combine linens with mostly vintage tableware in different styles. The more there is, the more I like it. With candles and/or flowers, conviviality is guaranteed!

A memorable memory or something special to share about one of the meals you organized or participated in?

On our wedding day, a dried flower arrangement caught fire and ruined my beautiful tables. Beware of sparklers, which don't mix well with flowers and table linens!

What kind of host are you? Team "I think about the menu and decor weeks in advance" or team "last minute"?

Last-minute team, I know there's plenty to do at home! But on the big day, I'll start the table before getting into the kitchen!

A song we'll definitely listen to if we're invited to your place:

Probably the Beatles, my husband being one of their (many) biggest fans!

How would you describe the atmosphere of your room in a few words?

Very refined, I recently removed a piece of furniture and I find it very soothing!

A simple tip to give character to a room?

A pretty headboard, beautiful linens and cushions!

What did you like about the Tomète universe or our products?

Scalloped linens! A little vintage touch that I really like.

Which Tomète product did you choose for your home, and why?

The placemats and I'm going to fall for the scalloped bed set soon.

What place does household linen hold in your home?

A large place, as the base is quite neutral, the linen as well as the furniture or decorative objects is an integral part of the decoration!
